Aogiri frees many of the prisoners and they join forces to combat the CCG personnel. During the fray, Kurona Yasuhisa and Nashiro Yasuhisa sneak in to find Kaneki. Akira and Amon try to survive against Naki and Gagi and Guge until backup arrives. Akira is almost attacked by Naki, but Naki is instead injured by her chimera quinque, Amatsu. Distracted by the pain, Akira tosses a Control Rc gas grenade weakening Naki's and all the other ghoul's in the area kagune. Naki still manages to fight and takes a bit from Akira's leg. Amon saves her, but has to defend them both from the horde of ghouls. Amon rejects Akira's offer to leave her behind and instead carries her to safety. Receiving a distress call from Kousuke Houji, Yukinori Shinohara and Juuzou Suzuya arrive at Cochlea. Juuzou quickly separates from Shinohara and slaughters ghouls until he meets Kurona and Nashiro.

Creemos que el espectador es un ser inteligente, con capacidad de interpretar, y como tal le trato. Claro que hay un homenaje al cine puro. Luego hay más interpretaciones, claro. Es una película que habla de la maternidad, un tema presente en tu cine, pero ¿también sobre las segundas oportunidades? Todo ello se puede describir como la lucha por la vida. La maternidad no deja de ser el potencial de crear vida, que no es la creatividad, sino la creación. A la naturaleza le llamamos madre naturaleza por algo y eso es a lo que ahora mismo nuestra sociedad está enfrentada, a esa vida. Estamos poniéndola en duda, a la propia biología, atacándola y agrediéndola permanentemente a ese organismo que somos todos. La película habla de eso, de esa capacidad para crear, de esa lucha entre la vida y la muerte.
