Its heartbreaking moments were so affecting when I was younger and this was very brave on the part of Disney and that risk only bolstered the film's credibility. I was surprised to discover later in life that three of my favourite films of all time - The Kid, Cool Runnings and While You Were Sleeping were directed by the same director Jon Turteltaub. He has a sense of story-telling and comedic timing that resonates with the emotional truth of a storyline and elevates it. 100% recommend.
